Achievements

 

A few other merits earned by Anuradhaji, which have a special place in her life, are:

  • Venkat Reddy Memorial Award at the hands of noted poet, the Late Shri. Harindranath Chattopadhyay in the year 1977.
  • Best Choreographer of the Year – 2003 & 2004 Orissa Dance Festival – at Cuttack , Orissa.
  • First Prizes at leading dance competitions like Firodiya Karandak, Kalyani Karandak, Inter–College & Inter-University Dance Competitions and Youth Festivals.
  • NrityaShree Rashtriya Puraskar in May 2005.
  • Best Choreographer of the year - 2005 at the hands of Smt. Sucheta Bhide Chapekar.
  • Appointment as 'Senior Faculty' in 2008 at Department of Dance - Bharatanatyam, TMV University, Pune.

Among the contemporaries in the field, Anuradhaji stands out for the sheer all-round ability to be creative. This is evident from the following activities that she has been personally involved in:

  • Performances at various dance Festivals in Chennai, Maharashtra, and Kerala.
  • Performances on television (Doordarshan as well as other leading channels) in the form of Ballets and Dance Dramas.
  • Lectures & demonstrations at various dance workshops.
  • Examiner at the scholarship award of the Cultural Resources talent search scheme of the Government Of India - CCRT, New Delhi.
  • Specialized Training given to school children under ‘JAGAR’.
  • Specialized Training in Nattuvangam, Choreography, Stagecraft, Costume Designing, Jewellery Designing and Compeering to interested students.
  • Directing plays and active involvement in Children’s Theatre.
  • Research in the fields of Bharatnatyam, Kathak and Folk forms of India as also in the field of Dance Choreography.
  • Dance Productions , Music Setting and Presentations.
  • Writing and publishing articles on famous personalities and artistes in the field of Bharatanatyam and Carnatic music.
  • Active assistance in ‘Directory’ project – Narthaki - a world wide directory on dance artistes.
  • Regularly contributing through featured articles in newspapers like Sakal, Times of India and Loksatta.
  • Presentation of different styles of dance form by way of Ballets with subjects like Krishna, Lord Shiva, Vishnu, Laxmi and Karthikeya as also a classical Italian Ballet with a professional Ballet Artiste from Italy as ‘Nritya Sangam’.
  • Presentation of ‘Ghanashyam’ – a Music Theatre Dance Ballet of 30 artistes, in Bharatanatyam, Oddissi, Kathak and Folk styles. The Ballet focussed on drug abuse and was given music by the eminent Sitar Maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar.
